Interpreter of Maladies by Jhumpa LahiriMy rating: 3 of 5 stars
'Interpreter of Maladies' is a collection of six short stories. One thing common among all the stories is the nativity.
Jhumpa Lahiri portrays real-life characters in all the short stories. It is so relatable when you read about them. I specifically liked the third and fourth chapters of the book.
One of the stories is about a teen girl, who is always suffering from ailments. She cannot move much and is confined to a single room. She always wishes to lead a normal life, but is a burden to her family. This story is well crafted and is a must-read among the stories.
I have read previous books of Jhumpa Lahiri. This book a bit exaggerated for the content it has. Nevertheless, It can be picked up.
