Digital Minimalism: Choosing a Focused Life in a Noisy World by Cal Newport My rating: 4 of 5 stars I have previously watched awareness videos on how much we spend time on social media and the reason why we do that is a mystery until this book hit me. This book gives a logical explanation of why we need to adopt Digital minimalism and use it for our benefit. The techniques used by social media to gain our attention which actually is literally money to them. All of them have devised a pattern for us to stay and keep looking for unnecessary information and lure to spend our time on social media. I recommend everyone to read this book and understand social media habits and how to use them effectively. View all my reviews
The Namesake by Jhumpa Lahiri My rating: 4 of 5 stars 'The Namesake'is an apt title for an endearing story about a journey of a man named 'Gogol'.Gogol hates is the name given by his parents and also changes his name to Nikhil. It is a common tradition in Bengali families to call their children by their pet names and due to unfortunate circumstances, it also becomes his actual name. Jhumpa Lahiri takes you on a ride with her writing with high and lows throughout the book. I look forward to read more of her works. View all my reviews

Pomodoro Techinque:Try It!

Have you been having concentration lapses and are not able to get over it. Then, this article is for you? Pomodoro technique is a time management method in which you spare 25 minutes on the task you do and then take a short break of 10-15 minutes. I have personally tried this technique and have been successfully able to overcome concentration lapses. You can also tweak this technique according to your needs. I would personally prefer to increase the time of the task gradually and reduce the time of your breaks. I spent 25 minutes working on a task and then a 10-minute break. Now, I spend 30 minutes and then a break of 5 minutes. With this technique, I read more pages and did get a lot more productivity than the usual. Do try this technique and let me know the results in the comments.
