The Namesake by Jhumpa Lahiri

'The Namesake'is an apt title for an endearing story about a journey of a man named 'Gogol'.Gogol hates is the name given by his parents and also changes his name to Nikhil. It is a common tradition in Bengali families to call their children by their pet names and due to unfortunate circumstances, it also becomes his actual name. Jhumpa Lahiri takes you on a ride with her writing with high and lows throughout the book. I look forward to read more of her works.
